From this Monday, December 28, the Cine Esquema Novo - Arte Audiovisual Brasileira is open for registration for the Competitive Exhibition Brazil. Interested parties should access the registration and regulation form through this link until January 27 . Will be accepted works completed as of July 1, 2019, that were not previously registered for the festival, for works carried out in Brazil by Brazilians or foreigners, or abroad by Brazilians.

The Cine Esquema Novo arrives at its 14th edition in 2021 online and free of charge, which will take place from April 10th to 15th , including urban screenings, film screenings, debates, seminars and workshops. All works will be displayed for free throughout these six days on the festival's online platform. Selected entries will compete with each other unregarding duration and format

The novelty will be in several contents that will be built in partnership with each one of the selected ones, which will be available in a digital environment created for each participant, called Artist’s Notebook : “We are proposing to those who have their film selected, to choose another audiovisual work that enters into dialogue with their work, to be on display with their work at the festival. This work chosen by the artist will not be in the Competitive Exhibition Brazil, but it will be part of what we can call the Artist’s Notebook, an area that will bring together, in addition to the selected film, the work that dialogues with the work in competition, interviews, information and others images, inviting the public to have a greater understanding of the universe of each director ”, declare the organizers of CEN Jaqueline Beltrame, Ramiro Azevedo, Gustavo Spolidoro and Alisson Avila.

The Official Jury will be composed of three guests and will be responsible for choosing, among the works selected for the Competitive Exhibition, the Grand Prize Cine Esquema Novo 2021 and 5 Special Jury Prizes (The Official Jury may award up to 5 prizes, free of charge, among all works in competition). 

Created in Porto Alegre in 2003, CEN has already brought about film screenings, several programs with productions essential to the history of independent cinema, art cinema, and expanded cinema, in addition to workshops, debates and seminars, promoting the formation of audiences of Audiovisual Art, stimulating production in the area and building a space of reference, providing a rich exchange between filmmakers, audiences and institutions. "In addition to proposing a space for thinking about audiovisual, seeking to break aesthetic and format barriers, it is a great achievement for us to see that CEN has established itself as an event for the formation of audiences and the development of projects and directors", say the festival's creators. Throughout 13 editions, there were countless partnerships with other festivals, events and institutions, such as Festival de San Sebastián (Spain), Cine Humberto Mauro (MG), Goethe-Institut Porto Alegre (co-director in some editions), Arsenal Institut (Germany), Semana dos Realizadores (RJ), Bienal do Mercosul (RS), Bafici (Argentina), Fuso Lisboa and Temp d'Images (Lisbon), among others.
